I'm having a hard time deciding between UCF or UF for my undergraduate Pre-Vet studies. UF is the only veterinary medicine school in Florida so that's probably where I'm going for graduate school. I got accepted to UCF for the summer and also applied to UF for the summer. The biggest advice I give to high schoolers is to keep them grades/test scores up to get the most scholarships possible. Yes, the vet school does take mainly in-state students, after all it is a state school, but if your grades are good and you are in-state you have a chance no matter what school you went to. The idea that UF grads are given preference because UF is a more highly ranked school is not true at all.

I guess pre-vet life/applying to vet school is the most extreme experience some people have and the waiting, rejection, and acceptance overload is hard for some people to handle. I applied this cycle with the rest, but holy bananas... some people just need to take a chill pill and friggin breathe.

It was pretty helpful to know exactly what the people in vet school were going through and to see firsthand what was needed that year and personal interview experiences. they also did field trips to the aquarium and zoo. So my message to all you pre-vets out there and curent 1st-3rd year vet students reading this, is to keep on keepin' on because it's totally worth the sacrifice at the end!
